New Health Engagement Open Lab in Milan

The miGut-Health project is proud to announce the upcoming Health Engagement Open Lab, organised in collaboration with AMICI Italia, taking place on 26 May 2026 in Milan.

As part of the miGut-Health project, International Federation of Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis Associations - IFCCA is organising this event in Milan in collaboration with AMICI Italia, with the scientific involvement of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and EngageMinds HUB.

The event will bring together people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to explore new ways of shaping care through active patient engagement and co-creation. Designed as an interactive and participatory experience, the Open Lab reflects a growing recognition that people with IBD should not only receive care, but also play a central role in improving it.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, exchange perspectives with experts, and contribute to the development of tools and approaches that better reflect real-life needs. This aligns closely with miGut-Health’s mission to empower individuals affected by IBD through personalised strategies for prevention, management, and improved gut health.

Health Engagement Open Labs are a key component of the project’s broader effort to foster dialogue between science and society, translating research insights into meaningful, patient-centred solutions. By encouraging collaboration across stakeholders, these initiatives aim to support more inclusive, effective, and sustainable healthcare pathways for people living with IBD.

Through events like this, miGut-Health continues to strengthen its commitment to placing patients at the heart of innovation in gut health.
